Spoon River was performed by students at Briarcrest Christian High School during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. As such, this show was socially distanced on stage and was composed of individual monologues about life and death. The lighting design for this show was comprised mostly of top light and texture, with spotlights acting as the front light for each individual storyteller. This concept was accompanied by low-line fog with foot lights, street lamps that flickered, and subtle, continuous, lighting shifts to create the sense of life after death in the graveyard.
