Detroit '67 was performed by the Auburn University Department of Theatre and Dance as part of their mainstage season in 2022. The sound design concept for the show revolved around the music of the time period, and the speaker placement was designed to emphasize positional and directional sound rather than filling the space. Custom effects were created and programmed to replicate record skips, foot steps, and door slams.
